Benefits of the PR1000
The PR1000 may not be the most advanced model in the Bowflex lineup, but as one of the most affordable options, it offers many benefits.
The built-in rowing machine rail allows you to get a great cardio workout along with your strength training routine. The rail even folds up in between uses, so you save space.
The addition of the cardio row puts this model at an advantage because it offers a complete workout – full-body strength and cardio.
Dozens of Strength Training Exercises to Help You Reach Your Fitness Goals
The PR1000 allows you to perform more than 30 strength training exercises, so you can reach your fitness goals using just one simple machine.
Only 24 exercises are listed in the manual, but like with other Bowflex machines, there are plenty of other moves that can be performed with this home gym.

Bowflex PR1000 vs PR3000: My Pick
Deciding between the PR100 and PR3000 is no easy choice. Both offer a wide range of exercises, and the PR1000 even includes a rowing rail for cardio workouts.
Still, with all things considered, the PR3000 is the obvious choice.
- It has almoust double the amount of exercises the PR1000 offers
- No cable pulley changes are required
- The roller cushions are far more robust, which allows for a better lower body workout
- The resistance can be upgraded to 310 pounds
The PR3000 gives you more bang for your buck. If you’re going to invest in a home gym, invest in one that will allow you to perform more exercises than you’ll ever need to reach your fitness goals.
Why You Might Choose the PR1000
While I would personally choose the PR3000, the PR1000 does have its uses and may actuallly be the better option for you personally.
Don’t misunderstand me – the PR1000 does have its advantages.
If you’re looking to get a complete strength training and cardiovascular workout, the rowing function of this model may make it the better choice for you.
If you don’t have a large workout area, the PR1000 may be the better option.
If you prefer to focus on your upper body, this model may also be the right choice for you. The PR1000 can perform more upper body exercises than core and lower body exercises.
Otherwise, for the average user, the PR3000 gives you more value for your money, and allows you to perform a much wider range of exercises.
